Conditional Voter Registration/Same Day Registration Toolkit
California offers voters the opportunity to register and vote after the registration deadline. Voters can register and vote by visiting their elections office or designated location.
This process, called Conditional Voter Registration or Same Day Registration, removes a significant barrier to voting and helps elections officials maintain accurate and up-to-date voter rolls by allowing voters to fix voter registration problems in real time.
To help explain this important voter registration opportunity, Future of California Elections created sample messaging and resources. Please feel free to use the text, graphics and messaging found here to promote voter education of this important law. Here are some ideas for using these materials: Voter Guides, website, e-blast, flyers, social media, or newsletter.
